Trumpets is an autumn fairytale that follows a young Trumpet and her quest to paint The Colossus, sculptor of the eerie-amber Land of Lorith. As the timid artist searches for the eldest creator, she encounters a variety of familiar & menacing creatures who either aid or impede her journey

Bringing a modern Folk Tale to life…

Below is an excerpt from the first draft of the story. The full chapter was completed but I ultimately chose not to continue the story at the time. The task would have been too great and I feared I was not yet ready. Much like Gerwyg in the scene below, I let my own self-doubt hinder myself from reaching my true potential

After finishing my webcomic Golem Gaga and spending over a year away from Trumpets, I was ready to revisit the project that I’ve always held closest to my heart. I laced up my shoes and put together an 8-page showcase to illustrate the visual potential of the story. Only twenty copies were printed & given away at New York Comic Con.
